I do so love to see how other people work.
James has been working on another book for Orchard about Katie, and has been painting full colour roughs to size. So beautiful and I love all the pencils in pots too.
Just beautiful.
Every book starts with an idea, a spark, a moment of inspiration, and travels through many hands until it ends its journey with a child. This blog will track the journey of one book, written by James Mayhew, and illustrated by Jackie Morris.

I agree. These photos may as well be pictures of delicious plates of food as far as I'm concerned! Scrumptuous!x
Lovely, lovely, lovely! Can't see enough of stuff like this! I have an interview next Friday, so I've been choosing which print to buy on your prints for sale page! (Nothing like wishful thinking, eh?!)
