New cover

After a panicked phone call from the USA where there was some thought that I had done the art for the cover the wrong size ( during which I pulled out all my hair and many words that should not be uttered aloud flashed through my mind) all was well. It would seem that the new cover is fine, both front and back.
So, fingers crossed that the designer can make it all look beautiful and soon there will be proofs and then the finished book.

My studio is now no more. I have moved some of it into my bedroom and the rest is a scattered rag tag mess as I ineffectually try and clear the room so the builders can use it as a store room and build a staircase up to what will be my new studio. Meanwhile I am going to have to learn to work with all kinds of chaos and builders around.
I have worked in this room for seven years now and in all that time it has never been cleaned properly. I am finding much rubbish and the occasional thing of interest. Ruthless things are happening as I throw away things and recycle others and vowe not to let this happen to the new space.
Oh dear.

Hiya Jacster - wow! Very exciting times for you! Great news about the covers, fingers and paws crossed that it all goes smoothly. It will be so worth it when you get the new space - it's thrilling that you're getting it at last! I thought your new temporary studio looked fab over on your journal, and loved the tiles around your fireplace - did you do them yourself? Our heating has just broken down; sometimes it's one thing after another, isn't it! Keep warm x

Hi Jackie!

That's wonderful news about the cover! One thing you can let go out of mind to help cope with all the changes you are making to your studio - which sounds like it will be just lovely - I am turning a little green with envy!

I can completely relate - unforeseen happenings have left me with two abodes, 2.5 hours apart, one car that needs to be retired and another that needs repairing, two spaces that need purging and organizing, and little impetus to start on either.

Maybe when the nicer weather comes... ;)

Ha! You just wait.

Remember those postings about my tidy new studio??? Well not any more! It is already a horrible pit. But I kind of like it. I fleeting thought I might be a frustrated minimalist, but no - I'm all but buried alive in STUFF...Creative disorder. I thrive on it!

Good luck with the builders, hope they do a superdooper job for you. You deserve your studio of dreams.

And congrats on the new cover. What an epic eh?

ugh, hate disruption and chaos like that...but it sounds like something lovely will result in the end. And what a relief that the cover is o.k.!

How exciting to get a new studio. I always said that I would be tidy and organised! HA! Although I do try to clear it all out annually. I have to do some major repairs in there this year, so I do need to clear it up a bit, just to find the walls :)

From time to time I say "I have to find the floor so I can vacuum." It is amazing what turns up when absolutely everything has to be turned up to do renovations. Expecially when there are befurred ones who, through the years, have helped with the decorating and created their own secret caches o' stuff.

Bravo for taking the plunge and getting it underway.

The saga of the covers is almost at an end, relax...take deep breaths, all is well.

Have you not heard it said "Tidy people are just too lazy to look for things ! "

Hope the new studio is all you wished for (on a star ?)

Relief for you that the new cover is fine! Good luck working in chaos! I would find that a "real" challenge, i just can't work in untidyness - well unless i am so engrossed then i don't seem to notice , very odd i know! - it will be so very worth it in the end though.
