This painting is absolutely magnificent! And I am envious of your experience with the night sky--there are no true 'dark places' around the city where I live. Even when you go to the mountains or desert, the light gets somewhat polluted because of all the light generated by the cities. A shame really. I remember when we had the last large earthquake here in Los Angeles and the power went out--my lord, there were a gazillions stars! Scared as I was, I thought to go outside and look up. I was rewarded with views of the Milky Way, which you can only see when you get far away from here.
